Summer time fashion this year seems very focused around bright happy colours. This can be really fun but it can be difficult to match things up without looking like a tacky rainbow. I think it’s absolutely fine to wear black in summer and I’ve found some really nice pieces that you could mix and match with a number of outfits.
Here’s my hot picks:
The bardot style is really on trend right now. I don’t particularly like this paired with the leather trousers as it resembles Sandy from Grease. I wore this on a night out and accompanied it with a floral skort; it wasn’t too hot and any sweat patches wouldn’t have shown due to the colour.
I know a plain black T-shirt can seem like a boring buy, but this top has been extremely useful to me. It’s lightweight material is cool and its plain colour allows it to be worn with bright floral bottoms.
I love this American football style top, I think the off the shoulder style keeps it up to date and adds a more feminine touch. I bought this top and it’s cool enough to wear on hot days and I’ve actually worn it as a dress, which has been perfect for nights out.
This isn’t entirely black but still runs with the dark colour theme. I recently bought this and have paired it with a black t-shirt. It looks smart but despite the colour it’s very cooling. I’ve had comments on how nice it looks and it’s been very useful to attend Uni in, and it’s also cheap.
